Bug Priority:Low This would be a nice fix, but it mildly improves things that already work. Product Areas:Page Defaults Status:Available Reviewed issue, it’s real, we’d review a pull request. Type:Bug Existing functionality not performing as expected.

Users who are members of the Administrators group are unable to edit Page Type output edit defaults, but are able to set other Page Type Permissions. Should members of the Administrators group be given this permission?

I have been kind of irritated about this for a while. But I also see this as a problem in some scenarios. What I would suggest is to add a new "Superuser" admin group that would have these permissions. That way it would be controllable.

This was definitely the idea behind "Access Page Type Defaults" – that anyone in that permission list would be able to edit everything about the page type defaults, including their blocks. The problems arise from some additional permissions checks that are harder to fix. This is a bug though – the intended behavior is that anyone in that permission list can edit every part of the defaults.

Can we get this addressed/roadmapped please? My issue #11986 was closed as "completed" but reading this thread suggests otherwise.
