bzip2 (or a dependency) might have been holding back some updates, but removing it allowed the environment to "move on". This looks like "the base environment is too packed", but not a problem with the libmamba solver itself. Just to make sure, you can use Ah, and thanks for documenting the fix in case someone else runs into it! |

What happened?
When I tried to install the libmamba solver, I got a number of conflicts. Many of them were bzip2 related, so I ran
conda uninstall bzip2This uninstalled not only bzip2-1.0.8 but a number of other packages. Other packages were also upgraded when I did this.
After running
conda uninstall bzip2, I was able to runconda install -n base conda-libmamba-solverIn reviewing the terminal, I noticed that as part of that, conda reinstalled bzip2-1.0.8 again.
Unsure if this is really a bug, as I had an overpulluted base environment, but it might prevent some people from using libmamba solver when it goes live.
