I have tried to install the contenta_jsonapi profile on a fresh Drupal 8.8.2 install.

When the distribution installation start, it fail in the "Configuration Synchronisation" step with error :

  • Path module cannot be installed without path_alias module.

Solution :
Add path_alias: 0 in the config/sync/core.extension.yml before path: 0
