external triggering is useful for, complex fm waves, and hard sync i guess

people have proposed using one wav filename as a trigger and another as a render
i've never implemented it
problem is, my table has too many columns already
adding separate trigger width and subsampling columns is +1, adding separate render width and subsampling is another +1
adding external sync is another +1
and most columns are empty too
ideally i could either hide empty rarely-used columns until you show them on a per-song? basis (hard)
or add a "channel editor" sidebar that only shows 1 channel at a time (harder)
