Electron's really cool ... I'm a long-time atom user.
But I don't understand why anyone would want an electron app that just loads a URL. It actually concerns me a bit ... aren't you just outsourcing the duties of your primary web-browser to another (embedded) web-browser that's likely going to stay less up-to-date and become less secure over time? Seems like a really bad idea from a security perspective.
Furthermore, I can't speak for Firefox, but for Chrome/Chromium users, you can easily add app shortcuts that allow you to launch a specific URL in a separate app-like window -- completely separate from the browser. I'm on Fedora, so I have an app icon for Hangouts Chat in Gnome and it opens a separate non-tabbed window that has no address bar, bookmarks bar, etc, and keeps things nice and separate.
