I'm thinking along the lines of a gist or droplr/cloudapp sharing.

Essentially make capsule items sharable, so if there is an item that is pertinent to a team member or task, allowing sharing via shortlink directly to the item seems useful.

Given the server is just another public instance, It would seem reasonable to simply display the item on the server.

Questions / Unknowns

  • Authentication
  • How do you retrieve a shortlink?
    • If an item is shared to the server, it appears in the local UI?

Copying the URL from the date/link doesn't provide this already?

@alexkingorg That would be the local url, that the person you're sharing with wouldn't have access to if it's set up on your local machine.

This ticket is on the server project so the date/URL of a post on the Server instance is the server URL.

I think I understand what you're asking for now - when an item is pushed to a Capsule Server, make the link to the post on the Server available in the local instance.

This would be a feature for Capsule rather than the Server.

At the moment, "last push" data isn't available (was de-prioritized for launch), but this is a great use for it.

I created an issue for this: crowdfavorite/wp-capsule#2

This was implemented in version 1.1.
