Is this suite of PHP scripts intended to be run on one's own webserver, or does it rely on a third-party webserver to function?

Yes, you can use our php bitcoin class with your own bitcoin daemon. Need to run bitcoin daemon on your linux server and build functionality how your daemon will work with our class.
