Dokan Version 2.x doesn't show up in Cryptomator

Summary

When Dokan Version 2.0.0.1000 is installed, it's not listed in Cryptomator

What software is involved?

Operating System: Windows 10
Cryptomator: 1.6.5

Steps to Reproduce

1. [Install Dokan Version 2.0.0.1000]
2. [Open Cryptomator 1.6.5]
3. [Only Webdav is there with no sign of Dokan]

Expected Behavior

Even when Dokan Version 2.0.0.1000 is installed it should show up and not having to downgrade to 1.5

Actual Behavior

When Dokan Version 2.0.0.1000 is installed, it's not listed in Cryptomator

Depends on cryptomator/dokany-nio-adapter#52.

As documented in the linked issue: The experiments with Dokany 2.x were not successful. We will pick them up later, but for know the migration to Dokany 2.x is paused.

Since Dokany 2.x and 1.x can be installed side by side and additionally there is WinFSP or WebDAV, there are workarounds.

In case there is other software using Dokany Lib v2 (Dokany v1 and Dokany v2 installed at the same time), cryptomator will show a chance error popup in use (at this time cryptomator is using dokany mount mode).

Thank you for giving this issue attention, the WINFSP option does not provide case-insensitive DIR and TAB-Completion as DOKANY does.

We decided to drop support for Dokany. With the release of Cryptomator 1.7.0 Dokany is officially deprecated. Therefore, we close all Dokany related issues.

We suggest to switch to WinFsp in the preferences.
