Basic Info

Tested with Cryptomator 1.4.7 on Windows 7 and currently Windows 10

Description

I've been trying to get it to work. Is it working on Cryptomator or is it yet to be added fully?

On windows 7 I was able to set it up, but it does not sync or ‘work’, at all. On windows 10 (Using the general tool new-item) all I get is a “Cannot find drive. A drive with the name ‘E’ does not exist.”

Attachments (optional)

No error about Symbolic link in the log file.

So far symlinks have only been added to FUSE.

@infeo Or am I mistaken here?

Symbolic links work with Cryptomator. Symbolic link support depend on the OS.

But creating symbolic links requires admin privileges under windows. Due to security reasons only the user which started cryptomator can see unlocked vaults and therefore the command fails. You have to start Cryptomator with admin priviledges.

The feature of dropping the current-session-only-flag depends on #802 .

Edit: Sorry, i assumed the vault provider. @qjn1 What Mount method is selected in the settings? If it is dokany, then my statement holds.

@infeo Can you elaborate on the comment that symbolic links work? Does that mean I can create symbolic links between files in a Cryptomator vault, or is that still in development?

Oh, i see that i need to correct myself.
On windows, Cryptomator supports symbolic links from outside the vault into it. Currently it does not support creating links inside a vault.

This is a feature to be implemented.

Thanks for asking!

Shouldn't this be tracked in dokany-nio-adapter?

With the release of Cryptomator 1.7.0 Dokany is officially deprecated. Therefore, we close all Dokany related issues.

We suggest to switch to WinFsp in the preferences.

@infeo infeo closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Mar 2, 2023
