In Sublime Text 2, you can add new "Syntax Specific" (language specific) preferences (found via "Preferences" -> "Settings - More" -> "Syntax Specific"). It would be nice to list the current language preference (should be User/{{language}}.sublime-settings) in the open_setting_file. It does not currently display if the file does not yet exist =(
