Consider the stepdef in example/index.html:

Given(/a variable set to (\d+)/, function(number, callback) {
  variable = parseInt(number);
  callback();
});

If I replace this with:

Given(/a variable set to (\d+)/, function(number, callback) {
  variable = parseInt(number);
  setTimeout(function() {
    callback();
  }, 0);
});

then I get an exception.

Thanks for reporting here. As I told you I guess there is a glitch in the callback chain. It should be fixed by Monday.
