Operationally it is very useful to have insight into any EIOs that propagate back to user programs.
PR #2940 adds a counter to each EIO returned from the fuse callbacks, as well as logging details to the syslog.

In a cleaner patch, we'd aim to log:

  • filename of affected file
  • operation
  • user and pid of calling application.
