The Logo

It's pretty hard to top a blue heeler with rad shades (ha, get it?), but it might not hurt to have something a little more consistent with our UX Redesign, whatever that ends up looking like exactly. Specifically, something that can be converted to a vector.

The Name

Text is great--it's simple, traditional, but boring and not super consistent. Once again, SVG might be the way to go, but we can have some fun with it; "cynolycus" (or "cynolyc.us"?) has a lot of potential for some neat typographic art. Combining this with a revamped logo would give us a nice banner on the site, and something that can be leveraged in other projects.

The Difference

"But if you're just combining them, why are we bothering to separate the two?"
Ideally, the logo (which will be somewhere between 100 and a 1,000 times as awesome as the existing one, naturally) ought to stand on its own and be memorable enough to convey the same message even without the attached site/user name (namely "Oh hey, it's that guy", in this case). It'd be used where the full banner is not feasible--avatars, project icons, and so forth.
