Amazingly, this did not work:

     def __div__(vector self, double factor):
         result = vector()
          vector.set(result, self.xv/factor, self.yv/factor, self.zv/factor)
          return result
  
     __truediv__ = __div__

Error:

    __truediv__ = __div__
E   NameError: name '__div__' is not defined

The feature request is to make this work. Low priority obviously.
