Unoconv has beenworking great for other conversions on Ubuntu 12.10.

When going to convert a .PDF to a .PPTX file the conversion seems to work but the file size is only 1.3kb and as expected, when opening, their is no slides. No error messages come up.

The PDF was created with unoconv by converting a .PPTX.
I was able to open the PDF file in LibreOffice and save it as a PPTX.

Related info: When saving as a .PPT file, unoconv gives the following error:

unoconv: UnoException during export phase: Unable to store document to file:///home/len/powerpoint/Shire/test.ppt with properties ((com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue){ Name = (string)"FilterName", Handle = (long)0x0, Value = (any){ (string)"MS PowerPoint 97" }, State = (com.sun.star.beans.PropertyState)DIRECT_VALUE }, (com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue){ Name = (string)"OutputStream", Handle = (long)0x0, Value = (any){ (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface)0x23c8e68{, supportedInterfaces={com.sun.star.lang.XTypeProvider,com.sun.star.io.XOutputStream}} }, State = (com.sun.star.beans.PropertyState)DIRECT_VALUE }, (com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue){ Name = (string)"FilterData", Handle = (long)0x0, Value = (any){ ([]any){} }, State = (com.sun.star.beans.PropertyState)DIRECT_VALUE }, (com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue){ Name = (string)"Overwrite", Handle = (long)0x0, Value = (any){ (boolean)true }, State = (com.sun.star.beans.PropertyState)DIRECT_VALUE }). Exception:

In the past I've got this error when its some kind of write access issue, so it may not be related to the main PPTX issue but wanted to include the error for completeness.

Can you do it in LibreOffice/OpenOffice ?

If it doesn't work there, no chance it will work in unoconv. If you want anything to be fixed, report it to the LibreOffice/OpenOffice project.

That's the odd part about it, it does work in LibreOffice.
