Ability to use a single ISO as target for mulitple episodes + loading of ISO's #133

What enhancement or feature would you like?
I would like the plugin to be able to detect an ISO file and assign
mulitple episodes to the ISO.

How would you expect it to work? Can you illustrate it with examples such
as images or scenarios?

Say if Disc 1 has episodes 1-4 on it, when you select any of the episodes
from 1-4 it would load the ISO and play the dvd where you would then select
the episode from the DVD menu.

The importer would also download the details for each episode as it would
if you were using single video files.

Ideally it would be able to load the dvd and select the episode but this
would most likely prove too difficult to do.

Please provide any additional information below.

so basically you want to be able to have 4-6 episodes in 1 file instead of the
current limitation of 2?

I cant speak for johndoe, but I think that would be a great way to implement
it.

The only problem is how to get the files imported, which I think would take a
bit
more thinking unless you just went with a basic manual import method. For
automatic
import of DVD rips of a TV show though i think more information would need to
be
stored on thetvdb.com than currently is up there... Without reliable info about
what
episodes are on which DVD, you just have to rely on user input. Then you have
issues
with multiple editions of the DVD... the more I think about it the less I think
this
could be automated.

But yeah, if you could manually assign a DVD image to a handful of episodes,
that
would be fantastic.

As johndoh stated, manually adding multiple episodes to one iso file would be
great.
example:
-> manually point E01, E02, E03 and E04 to "seriesname S01 disk 1.ISO".
-> fanart and basic episode info gets imported (never mind the file secific
info
like duration)
-> When starting S01E04, "seriesname S01 disk 1.ISO" DVD gets loaded and you
manually select E04 to play from the DVD menu.

Nothing fancy going on, just being able to point multiple episodes to the same
.iso
file on hdd.

At the moment i'm only able to point one episode to an unique .iso file.
Like: E01 points to "seriesname S01 disk 1.ISO".
When i want to watch E02, i need "know" its on "seriesname S01 disk 1.ISO" and
start
it by loading E01.
Media portal does not show E02, E03 and E04, since im not able to also point
these
to the same .iso as E01.

Why can't you just name the .iso file with what ever episode(s) it contains
eg. if it contains ep03-06 call the file Seriesname S01E03-06.iso?
Then it doesn't matter what version of the dvd it is.
Then the importer would just create entries for ep03, ep04, ep05, ep06 all
pointing
to the one image file.

Will add this to the service version, can either add the episodes to the file
name or
use a nfo file.

Any ETA on when the service version will be available? I have several series on
DVDs
waiting to be imported into MPTV Series. Thanks.

Would be great if this feature would be added, I've also lots of series in iso
format with 4 episodes in every iso file. Implementing this feature would make
me very happy.
