As we mention in the About page, number of cases are not useful. Fraction of positive cases is much more useful, but it is available only for LA and OC, because these counties report the total daily number of tests (positive + negative). The data sources are cited in the About page. Would be nice to create a separate page (shown in a dropdown menu, similar to maps) for OC and LA only, where we add two additional plots: total number of tests per million people and positivity fractions over time.
