At 10k "Used by", it seems a shame that this project isn't going to be maintained. I suggest we migrate to @react-native-community and let some new maintainers update?

What do you think @dancormier @pedro

That sounds great to me. I haven't been able to find time to maintain this package, but if it's still useful to the community, I'd love to see it get brought up to date.

Seems @react-native-community has some requirements for a project to be under their umbrella. I'm happy to add you as a collaborator to help prep for a migration if you're up to it. What do you say, @alexpchin?

@dancormier @alexpchin I think making it a "community" project would be a great idea. There really is no direct replacement for this library and it works beautifully. Would be a shame to let it go like that. I wouldn't mind helping with the migration as I had plans on re-producing my own version seeing as it was deprecated.

I'd love to see it moved under the community umbrella as well!

This one is so much more performant, flexible, and maintained: https://software-mansion.github.io/react-native-gesture-handler/docs/component-swipeable.html
