Name your thread so that under attack CPU usage can be spotted easily in top/htop on Linux.
Example code:

#ifdef __linux__
    #include <sys/prctl.h>
#endif

void thread()
{
    #ifdef __linux__
        prctl(PR_SET_NAME,"serversecure\0",NULL,NULL,NULL);
    #endif
...
}
