Before creating a feature request:

  • First check the next branch, to see if the feature has already been
    implemented.

I've checked and found that it's not yet available

  • Check existing reports, see if it is already requested.

#900 but gets closed due to not follow the guideline.

Describe the feature

  • A clear description of the feature you want added.

prefixing each completion item with its current line number starting from 1.

  • If the feature involves replacement of current functionality, how the new
    functionality is better?

It doesn't replace any current functionality as far as I'm aware.

  • If the feature is implemented in another application, include:
    • Screenshots or screencasts of it
    • Links to its implementation

emacs company mode can sever as an example
image

Current company-mode upstream implementation is on the right hand side of each candidates but it's easy to adapt to the left company-mode/company-mode#941

This feature request asks for a left hand side implementation in rofi.

  • If possible try to explain how you would expect to use feature:
For example, should it be a configuration option or a hot-key.

I'd like to use it as an indicator for -kb-select-<num> actions

When reporting a feature request include the following information:

  • Rofi version:
    • rofi -v
❯ rofi -v

Version: 1.5.4

Requesting a feature is no guarantee it will be added.

Understood.
