What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Visit the area right out in front of Matango Castle with all the walking
mushrooms, or
2. Visit Kakkara Village, or
3. Enter any of the huts on Sea Hare Island

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Emulation shouldn't slow down as much as it does; very sluggish.

Does this issue occur on SNES9x for Windows 1.51?

What version are you using?
Snes9x GX 007

Please provide any additional information below.
This slowdown seems to happen regardless of whether I'm using Original,
Filtered, or Unfiltered video modes. NTSC TV, RCA Cables, US Wii, loading
off of normal SD card (2GB)

Hi, could you verify this is not occuring in Snes9x for Windows? How about the
VC
version of this game?

Some games actually suffer slowdowns when too many sprites are on the screen at
the
same time. This happened even in the original catridge version of these games.

This might actually have something to do with the emulator, but it's better to
discard other possibilities first.

FYI - The slowdowns in Kakkara exist in the SNES itself. Certain areas of the
town
seem to produce the infamous "NESLAG!!!". Matango castle itself doesn't stick
out in
my mind, unless it is right at the entrance out of the cave (not the back exit)

I played through a normal experience using 005 with no issue. I'll try to verify
tomorrow now that I have 007.

I've hcecked Kakkara Mantango and Seahorse island - the slowdowns are very minor
(compared to others that exist) and do occur in the original version of the game
using a first generation SNES
