As per note_Frequency.md, the ISO WG proposes the following:

Add comment for class http://purl.org/dc/terms/Frequency:

For instance, publication frequency of a serial.

Rationale:

  • Provides example of an instance of frequency.

Note:

  • In DCMIMT, dct:Frequency is used only as the range of the property http://purl.org/dc/terms/accrualPeriodicity.

  • In ISO 15936-2, this would appear as:

NOTE 1 to entry: For instance, publication frequency of a serial.

Here are some examples of existing comments for classes:

  • "Examples of Agent include person, organization, and software agent."
  • "Examples of Agent Class include groups seen as classes, such as students, women, charities, lecturers"

Using this style, the comment for dct:Frequency would read:

Examples of Frequency include the publication frequency of a serial.

I see two issues:

  • Is the existing style for comments still okay?
  • Without wishing to get too pedantic, is this particular proposed comment okay if it repeats "frequency"?

The ISO draft has now the following note:

Examples of frequency include the publication frequencies of journals and newspapers.

Tom's proposal had a problem ("examples" and just one example) which is fixed in my version.

The current ISO draft adds a comment for the class dct:Frequency:

Examples of frequency include the publication frequencies of journals
and newspapers.

Note that DCMI Metadata Terms already uses comments (e.g., for Agent) to
characterize examples of class instances. For consistency with existing
comments, "Frequency" should be written in uppercase:

Examples of Frequency include the publication frequencies of journals
and newspapers.
