See Range of dct:relation

Add the following comments for http://purl.org/dc/terms/relation:

Relationships may be expressed reciprocally (if the
resources on both ends of the relationship are being described) or in one
direction only, even when there is a refinement available to allow
reciprocity. If text strings are used instead of identifying numbers, the
reference should be appropriately specific. For instance, a formal
bibliographic citation might be used to point users to a particular
resource.

Dublin Core Usage guide contains more information about various relations
and how they should be encoded.

EXAMPLE Title=”My Fair Lady (movie)”
         Title=”Pygmalion (play)”
         Relation described is IsBasedOn

I had closed this issue because the latest ISO draft removed the examples. However, I see that a second comment remains:

Note 2 to entry: Dublin Core Usage guide contains more information
about various relations and how they should be encoded.

This points to the old User Guide, which was superseded 2005.

I suggest we either drop the comment (and reference) entirely - or point to the 2011 User Guide, which Paul and I will soon copy to a more citable location.

Two options:
-- Drop comment - VOTE THUMBS-DOWN
-- Keep comment (with link to most recent User Guide) - VOTE THUMBS-UP

+1 for drop; and a new usage guide would be awesome! I'm happy to help but may not know enough about some of the properties (esp those added for educational context)

The reference to the usage guide may be useful for people looking for more guidance. However, it may make the whole definition less futureproof.

APPROVED - i.e., agreed to reject proposal

The Usage Board REJECTS the proposed change. The following comment in the ISO draft should be DELETED:

Note 2 to entry: Dublin Core Usage guide contains more information
about various relations and how they should be encoded.
