Introduction

What is DavisRFM69?

DavisRFM69 is the result of efforts to reverse engineer the wireless transmissions by Davis Instruments in their weather stations, specifically their Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) and the Vantage Pro2 (VP2) Weather Station console. A newer product, the Davis Vantage Vue, is a more integrated product with a few new messages added in, but is otherwise compatible.

That is how it started, but it has spiralled out of control from there.

RF Protocol describes how the message from the ISS to the console at the RF level. An understanding of this is necessary if we are going to try to build a compatible receiver. Which we have done, of course.

Message Protocol details the format of the raw data messages transmitted from the ISS to the console. Eight data bytes are transmitted.

Harware Hacks a preliminary list of some of the hardware hacks that have sprung out of this effort. DIY serial interfaces and dataloggers, wireless interfaces, and compatible receivers... they're all here.
