Непонятно, как работает.
Буфер обмена не читает на linux manjaro, хотя, у меня есть простая утилита clipboard. Хотелось бы, чтобы можно было выполнить строкой ./yatrans-gtk.py <<< "Foreign language text" и получить в выводе текстовую строку с переводом. А вообще, идея хорошая и проект нужный!
Но пока что, лично у меня выходит: the buffer is empty.

Непонятно, как работает.

А никак больше не работает. Яндекс прекратил поддержку бесплатного API для переводчика.
Попробуйте Google-translator-GUI
