The project focuses on the VA participation in the National Network of Sate-Based Prescription Drug-Monitoring Programs (PDMP), which requires the VA to enter into an agreement with a national network of prescription drug-monitoring programs or any state or regional prescription drug-monitoring program to allow licensed VA health care providers to query controlled substance prescriptions written in participating states or regions.
