Will veterans be given the choice of sharing their medical records with non-VA providers, with the new electronic system that is coming up? It's bad enough that every set of eyes at the VA gets to look through all of my medical records when I make an appointment at the VA... it would be nice if we were given the choice to allow open sharing with non-VA providers or not.

It is very early in the process so it is unknown if this option exists. I propose you send your suggestion to the Department of Veterans Affairs customer service system called Inquiry Routing & Information System (IRIS) using their “Ask a Question” feature. From there it would be routed to the proper office to address your concerns. It can provide the process owner valuable feedback to add that feature if it doesn't exist or suggest it should exist during these early stages.
