Nice borders beside log screen prevents to copy-paste logs #187
Comments
I think it's related to this issue #119. |
I run into this issue consistently since moving to My current workaround is to open the resource in edit view to open it in |
@pipko @ncsibra @mcristina422 as highlighted in #119 you can now dump the screens to files without compromising the current ui. Fixed 0.7.0! |
@derailed Thanks, but a quick way to open the saved file still would be nice (like the "Edit" option for resources). Now searching the correct log file almost take as much time as entering the correct kubectl command to show the logs. |
@ncsibra. I totally agree and glad you've mentioned this! As I ran thru the video this am, I thought save was great, but retrieving the screen dumps was less than ideal. Please checkout the release notes for the new ScreenDump view. K9s 0.7.1! |
@derailed Thanks for the quick fix! It's much better now and we can even screen dump the ScreenDump view. 😄 |
@ncsibra Thanks! lol I call this K9s inception ;) |
Pseudo-graphics chars beside the screen prevent to clean copy-paste logs
This feature looks nice but loses in usability.
The solution
It's better (and do the viewable part of the logs wider) to remove this chars, Let the work part of the screen be clean!
Btw, it corresponds to other screens too -- the two chars (incl. space char) on both sides of the screen can make all other screens wider and cleaner!
