Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The output from this pool renders nicely for terminals but when sent to slack, has lots of unicode and color encoding issues.

Describe the solution you'd like
An optional output mode thats more friendly to sending in a payload to slack, that shows the same information but with less RGB colors?

Describe alternatives you've considered
none

Maybe choose a markdown or text formatter?

As unix program, IMHO, I think that's isn't the job of this awesome tool. No?

@alexcurtin @JulienBreux Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I do like these ideas. I think as Popeye matures, it will have different incarnations and usage. I do like the thought of formatting as md or txt for perhaps other tools to consume or alert on. Perhaps even the output won't be for humans? ie prometheus metrics? Lots of thoughts here to noodle on...

@derailed yes but I think that is important to differentiate two categories of issues ; format and transport.

Format

  • Text
  • JSON
  • XML
  • Markdown

"" Transport ""

  • CLI
  • HTTP
  • gRPC

@JulienBreux Thank you! We are in agreement here. My initial target is to get Popeye stable and complete. Then start looking at formatting and incarnations (aka transports) but must make the CLI solid and useful first!

@alexcurtin @JulienBreux This is not an official slack support, but please give 0.2.0 rev and see if the handy --jurassic cli flag help ;)
