Thank you for such a wonderful donation to the vim loving community.

I've recently started using vimacs. I'll often run into cases where there are so many hints it's difficult to know which one correspond to the desired control. Perhaps there could be an alternate command that only shows hint for the active application? i.e. shift+

Quite possible this is just a new user issue and there is a better way to deal with large numbers of hints in a small area.

It does show hints only for the active window. (At least that's intended).

Could you provide some screenshots/examples?

did some further testing, and it's working as intended, apologies for the misfire. long story short when the active application has an overlay the hints show for both the overlay and the layer beneath. i mistook that for coming from a different application.

in case you're curious i ad been using brave browser, there are number of hints in the right of the of the toolbar for extensions, and then it shows a periodic ad notification right above them. the net effect is there were a number of hints over the notification that didn't seem to correspond to the visible ui. issue is still kind of tricky since it's hard to tell which hint is for the notification window and which hints were for the extension buttons underneath it. will post a screenshot the next time i spot it for context

in a perfect world would be nice if the hints only covered what was visible, but that seems like a pretty tricky problem to solve which parts of a window are visible and which are covered. notifications being problematic since they're the top layer, but not really the active layer.
