There are several ways to do this, but I think the most effective would be to make some sort of library that utilizes PMMP's wonderful block state upgrade schemas and then use that library in DF.

Cloudburst also has a similar project but it's manually maintained and thus is not bound to be as accurate as PMMP's, which is as good as vanilla or better.
