  • send email when downtime is scheduled (time should be configurable)
  • show a message before downtime
  • send email when pod is back after down time
  • include the pod status url

Why not a general "send email to all users" feature?

That will also do. The idea is to notify all users about down times.

👍 for a generic send email to users, but with some simple choices on what activity, we could use the same we already have for statistics, eg 1 month actives, 6 month actves, all. Sending emails can cost for some people so it would be better to allow some smart filters.

Not all people use their real emails to register, so a broadcast message would be better. GitLab has implemented this, we could adapt it to diaspora's needs.
