The original Diablo supported Mac as well. Will there be a way to compile this for Mac or is that a different code base all together?

IIRC the original Mac release has problems on newer systems, since they didn't maintain compatibility as good as windows did. I ran through the binary and it seems to use a wrapper for DirectX, so I'd imagine it's going to be the same process we'll use to get the game ported to Linux.

Edit: the progress is tracked in the issue mentioned above.
