DiceBear 5.1 - Release Notes

Over the past few days, you guys have been sharing great ideas for DiceBear. You can find many of these ideas in this release.

Background gradient support #260

All avatar styles now support background gradients. Just set the new backgroundType option to ['gradientLinear']. Note that the option only takes effect if background colors have been defined.

JSON output format #259

Sometimes you want to know which options were selected by the PRNG. Now you can output the avatar as JSON and read this information!

The CLI now also supports json as output format. Additionally, a json option is available if you want to save the JSON in addition to the generated avatar.

And of course, the HTTP-API can also respond in JSON format.

textColor option for initials #256

The avatar style initials now accepts a new option textColor. This allows you to create very light avatars with black instead of white text.
