Describe the Bug

The new bulk action selection feature that was added in #1374 causes the tree to become very slow when a lot of pages exist.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create many pages
  2. Go to the page tree
  3. Wait until subpages can be expanded

Expected Behavior

The performance should not be harmed by the selection feature

Actual Behavior

In extreme cases, it can take more than 10 seconds until the user can interact with the tree
