Data compression doesn't work

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Images don't get compressed

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows 7 x64, Chrome 39.0.2171.71 m

Please provide any additional information below.
Several users with the same problem (some of them wrote on the Chrome Extension 
webstore)

I acknowledge this problem exists in Chrome 39+. Again there was some change in 
Google's algorithms.

The Chrome-Proxy request header has recently changed, fixed in version 1.6, 
works fine in Chrome 41.0.2251.0.
