Description

A way where you can rate bots from 1-5 stars.
In best case also combined with reviews (aka text with the stars) the bot dev(s) can reply to. Reviews can also be (dis-)liked.

So I'm somewhat against this for a few reasons:

  • Reviews are a massive moderation load
  • Hard to filter out reviews which are there because people have incentivised them to leave a good review.
  • A large number of reviews (normally on the more negative side) tend to be people asking random questions which could be answered outside of reviews but people don't care and don't reply, which again goes back to being a pain to moderate.

I'm not normally against product reviews but in the world of Discord people tend to be extra ordinarily stupid and so we get left with the following situation (if reviews were actually honest):

  • "Omg I love the bot la la la" 5*
  • "How do I do this very obvious things but because I haven't bothered to look at any information and I'm treating this feature as a Q and A rather than as a product review" 3*
  • "Omg I don't like the owners" 1*
  • "Bot offline for like 3 minutes" 1*
  • "I invited the bot with the wrong permissions and now it doesn't work" 1*

well I have to really agree to that.
Then I maybe would just either do like 👍 and 👎
