Error: Could not discover an OpenID identity server endpoint at the url

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. on my fresh wordpress installation (2.9.2) with openid 1.3.2, if i try
to add an openid from the link "Your Verified OpenIDs", I get the error
message:
"Error: Could not discover an OpenID identity server endpoint at the url
[my openid url]"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
apache with php 5.2.5, details here: http://inventioproject.no/phpinfo.php

Please provide any additional information below.
to try it out: go to 
http://inventioproject.no/flannor
and register a new user, and try to attach an openid to the user.

correction: i am using openid 3.3.2 of course, not 1.3.2.
