Perhaps limiting sidebar's width to Django logo would be better. I added a marker via devtools:

Oh, for a moment there I thought it's red for you! Nevermind, move on...

I think this problem is only so visible on the blog, right? If we change it there, it would be very inconsistent with the rest of the website. We also plan to add additional things to the blog sidebar (upcoming events, categories, tags -- #120), so it won't be looking so badly really soon :)

Sorry about that :) I was too lazy to open Gimp.

Actually, no, I was used the blog page just as an example. The left sidebar is too wide in general. Also, the CSS is not consistent with other pages in the blog page. I just changed the class name from list-links-small to list-links and now it looks much better to me:
