Consider using another syntax scheme for compound/long parameter names than long lower-case parameters. E.g.

all lowercase, dash-separated: --segment-interval
camel-case: --segmentInterval

These are more readable. At least the dash-separated all lowercase version is also kind of standard in the Unix world.
