Turns out this is just with users running old versions of DocPad (which are a lot). All we can do is help them upgrade somehow.

Just wondering since I haven't come across this issue. What is the issue? From what I can gather DocPad isn't able to find the user that's using DocPad?

So we track stats about how people use DocPad. If they haven't provided a username via the registration process then we should use a hash and salted copy of the first mac address. See getmac

However, it seems that this fallback is not working, or it could be something else entirely. But a lot of stats are being reported with an undefined user which should never happen.

It could be a snowball of this issue: bevry/getmac#1
