While editing the body of a note you can use some HTML. That marked up text then gets set as the content of the note as well as submitting to the server to be saved.
If one submits invalid markup (for example <a href="https://developer.github.com/guides/managing-deploy-keys/#machine-users"GitHub wording on "Machine Users":), the workspace happily sticks the invalid markup into the DOM (which breaks a few things), and attempts to make the markup valid (and sanitized) before saving it to the database.
