Hi can anyone please help me
So far i have created a custom ipsw with pwnagetool. then i have created a ssh
ramdisk.i uploaded ibss via tethredboot. then when i upload kernel cache and
ssh ramdisk via itunnel it just says waiting for device. i personally think the
problem is with itunnel. i am no newb in ios jailbreaking i have been around
since the 1.x days, and i have also performed this ssh ramdisk method countless
times. but with ios5 that is different. any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi,
tetheredboot does not support the iOS 5 boot sequence afaik. you can use
redsn0w command line parameters (-i ipsw -r ramdisk.dmg -k kernel).

Hi i have some more problems firstly my device is now stuck in recovery mode.
From me playing around and upload 4.2.1 IBSS. How can i get it into dfu mode.
Secondly i type this in ./redsn0w -i iPhone3,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw -r
038-3715-001.dmg -k kernelcache.release.n90
then the result is
Unable to recognize specified IPSW:
iPhone3,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw
Cannot open kernelcache.release.n90

I really am desperate for help. Is there anything else i can do . Thanks

Your paths are probably not correct. It’s improbable that all your files are
in the places you say they are:
redsn0w is somewhere in the .app package
(/folder/where/you/unzipped/redsnow/redsn0w_mac_0.9.10b3/redsn0w.app/Contents/Ma
cOS/redsn0w) for example.
