Based on design and requirements decisions it may turn out that we need to implement our own JSS based Realm. If we want to package up JSS based authentication technology (ex certificate auth), this may be the way to do it.

It turns out that this is not needed. Tomcatjss based SSL can be made to interact just fine with custom JNDI Realms.
