[D3D9] Hyperdimension Neptunia U Action Unleashed & MegaTagmension Blanc invisible models #1428
Comments
Please record an apitrace and attach log files, the issue template explicitly asks for them for a reason. |
I'd help get you one for U Action, but I get a crash to desktop when the second splash screen image tries to display. Occurs with both dxvk and wined3d. Did this need some kind of winetrick to run? |
Thanks @ryester27, I'm too much of a noob to do logs... |
That's quite alright. I might write up a revision for the wiki soon, because creating apitraces with Proton wasn't clear-cut for me at first, either
Sounds like a Proton regression. You might want to post your logs in ValveSoftware/Proton#19. Use As For MegaTagmension Blanc, I was able to reproduce the invisible models prob: However, creating a wined3d apitrace is crashing for me right when I meet that first splash screen video at startup. More than likely running into the widely-known mfplat problem, since I see the splash videos are .wmv files. Apitrace doesn't seem to be able to move past these errors |
I highly doubt it's mfplat specifically, the tech behind these games is hopelessly outdated. I got V-II to work with native Apitrace shouldn't care very much about whether or not videos work, so not sure what's going on there. Anyone got a windows machine to do this on? Alternatively, does recording a trace with DXVK work? Also, logs would be nice. |
Here's the log of the wined3d apitrace attempt Apitrace with DXVK does work. Below is the trace and log Gonna have to give me a few days to get my Windows PC rebuilt if you still need a Windows test |
Thanks, the trace replays fine with wined3d but does reproduce the rendering issue with DXVK, so it's useful. |
MegaBlanc look fine to me now, also. Will deal with proton over the U Action regression. Thank you again |
#644 System information
When playing both these games the ingame models become invisible.
I remember this issue being present in earlier versions of D9VK as back then I had to force the software to use D9VK for rendering and without it the 3D models appeared as supposed to. Since this game uses 3D models both in dialog visual novel type cutscenes and in gameplay, this means in both situations the characters are invisible.
