Hi, I recently found Doltr:

https://github.com/ecohealthalliance/doltr

Is a great tool to use dolt from R, sadly there is no page that tell us this lib exists, and with the time there can be other libs that can helps to improve our experience, so I think would helps hava a page with the libs/tools we can use.

Thx!

Hey @latot, very happy to hear you have found DoltR and are enjoying it! @noamross and his colleagues have done a great job putting that integration together. 👏

We do have a small mention of DoltR in the docs under Supported Programmatic Clients, but that's admittedly pretty deep in the docs, so I'm not surprised it was difficult to find. Would changing the title in the sidebar to "Supported Clients and Tools" have made finding that info easier? Let us know if you have other feedback on where you expected to see that info.

Hi!, mm, sadly I'm unable to find Doltr in that section of the docs.

Maybe there a duality about this type of tools, I think there is two things can be useful to split.

Dolt want to be used as a MySQL server, in that case is useful and interesting know what languages supports MySQL, Dolt still is not perfect but this can splited in this two compatibilities, from the Language to SQL, and from the Language to Dolt. This sections are more about how mature Dolt is, in the end both should be the same, we can think of this like something to remove in the future? but still some ppl can ask about "what connector we can use in this language?", even if we know is MySQL helps to clarify that and how to do it. And a lot of this doc is to tell us "you already can use Dolt in all this languages, here the examples!".

The second one, is about not if is Dolt can replace MySQL in that language, is what tools Dolt have in that language, here is where Doltr works, even if we can connect using traditional MySQL connection, Doltr helps to works in a easy and clear way.

Other one that can match like Doltr is #3205

So..., maybe a section for "Compatibility" and other for "Tools" would help to find this things.

Thx!

Awesome feedback @latot; thanks for sharing your perspective. And... you are right... I thought for sure I had seen that we already had a link to DoltR in the R section, but it is indeed missing. I'll go fix that right now and will think through the other doc feedback and kick some ideas around.
