  • Major Goals:

  • Selection Sort Turtles Skit

  • Management frontend platform using JWT, login, and score storage

  • Engaging lesson with a scavenger hunt at the beginning on a quiz platform on the website and then a lesson

  • Lab based on CARS with starter code

  • Scoring and live review --> stored based on accounts

  • 3 Days of Teaching

Day Focus Ideas Developers
Lesson One website page dedicated to solving different small code exercises through a practice quiz (kind of like what Bailey's group did last trimester for their project). This activity will be our intro and be a scavenger hunt eventually leading to a prize. But first, all students need to create a login. Next, we will transition to the lesson. The lesson will be through our frontend website with focus on programming and understanding code flow by incorporating 4 units. Include short hacks that start developing code for CARS lab. Emphasis on how to follow and implement given code in the context of AP Exam and PBL. Iris, Hetvi, Ellen
Lab At the beginning of the class period, backend developers will demo the code built from short hacks the previous day. They will explain the start to the code and then provide instructions for PBL lab completion. This will be full-stack. Inspiration may be drawn from Mr. M's code that focused on FRQ 1 which is our focus as well. Pretty much any functional code will contain Data Types, Objects, Boolean, and Iteration key concepts. The reason that cars are a potential idea is that they have a lot of associated data, which makes it easy to naturally present different data types. Additionally, it is very easy to think of classes and different functionality for the topic of cars. We plan to have this on a website frontend that has a page dedicated to the lab and instructions. Sahil, Samuel, Everitt, Bailey, Don, Evan
Review Reviewers will re-present the requirements of the lab and what students should have. Provide 10 minutes for final coordination. Group presentations to work on team-building skills. All students should have review tickets about progress on scavenger hunt, notes on lesson, and PBL CARS lab frontend and backend tangibles. Reviewers will go around group by group and review. Review and score storage is going to be done through JWT access. Nathan, Rohit, Jun
  • Roles Clarified
Roles Description Developers
Backend/Lab Developers Working to put together the starter code for the lab. Making sure that it includes all the units. Reviewing the lab and learning targets on review day. Coordinating with Frontend developers about what needs to be displayed on frontend. Samuel, Everitt, Sahil
Frontend/Scavenger Hunt/Lesson Talking to Bailey and getting scavenger quiz idea set up. Creating lesson with continuous code flow and making sure that all unit learnings are integrated. Hetvi, Ellen, Iris
Reviewers + JWT managers with scores Work on login, sign-up page with Backend and Frontend developers. Develop a scoring system and how to save the scavenger hunt scores. Nathan, Rohit, Jun
Backend + Frontend Work on both backend and frontend. Help with deployment. Deals with cross origins. Bailey, Don, Evan
