## Remarks
The <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlAttribute> class corresponds to the `<saml:Attribute>` XML element that is defined in the OASIS SAML 1.1 specification.
A <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlAttribute> instance contains <xref:System.IdentityModel.Claims.Rights.PossessProperty%2A> claims for the subject of a <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlAttributeStatement>. For example, a <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlAttribute> might contain an `Over21` claim, whose type would be specified in the <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlAttribute.Namespace%2A> property and whose resource would be specified as a member of the collection in the <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlAttribute.AttributeValues%2A> property. When the <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlStatement.CreatePolicy%2A> method is called, this `Over21` claim is added to the authorization policy that is returned by returned from by the <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlAttributeStatement>. When the <xref:System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SamlAttribute.AttributeValues%2A> property contains multiple elements then one claim is returned for each element.
