## Remarks
The <xref:System.Web.Configuration.NamespaceCollection> contains <xref:System.Web.Configuration.NamespaceInfo> objects. Each <xref:System.Web.Configuration.NamespaceInfo> object is the same as an `Import` (`<%@ Import %>`) directive that applies to all pages and controls in the scope of the configuration file. The `Import` directive allows you to import a namespace into your ASP.NET page, making all its classes available for use on your page.
## Examples
The following configuration file excerpt shows how to declaratively specify values for several properties of the <xref:System.Web.Configuration.NamespaceCollection> class.
```
<system.web>
<pages>
<namespaces>
<add namespace="System" />
<add namespace="System.Collections" />
<add namespace="System.Collections.Specialized" />
<add namespace="System.ComponentModel" />
<add namespace="System.Configuration" />
<add namespace="System.Web" />
</namespaces>
</pages>
</system.web>
```
The following code example shows how to use the <xref:System.Web.Configuration.NamespaceCollection> type. This code example is part of a larger example provided for the <xref:System.Web.Configuration.PagesSection> class.

## Remarks
If the specified element is defined in a higher-level configuration file, this method inserts a `remove` element into the appropriate section of the configuration file at the level of the current application. If the element is defined in the current configuration file, its entry is removed from the configuration file. The object to remove must exist in the collection; if it does not, a <xref:System.Configuration.ConfigurationException> is thrown.
## Examples
The following code example shows how to use the <xref:System.Web.Configuration.NamespaceCollection.Remove%2A> method.
