Hi,
Sorry if this is not the best place to request this, but I was wondering if someone might create a filter for imdb.com galleries, and also last.fm galleries?

For example, there are 884 photos of Angelina Jolie on imdb.com, each on an individual page.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001401/mediaindex

Or on last.fm, each artist has hundreds of photos also. Here's an example:
http://www.last.fm/music/Florence%2B%252B%2Bthe%2BMachine/+images

It would be great to be able to easily save some of these photos, with downthemall + anticontainer, but I'm not smart enough to create a filter :(
Can anyone help?

Sarah.

Hello Sarah,

don’t worry this is actually the best place to request this ;) I’ll look into this tomorrow and try to come up with plugins for those two sites. Thank you for the request!

Thank you so much for answering, and for looking into it! I really appreciate it. those sites are pretty big and popular, so hopefully it would be a popular filter for lots of people to use. There are loads of great pictures on there that it would be great to save.
Thanks again!
Sarah.

Okay, here we go: Commits dce878d and dce878d.

I’m not sure if we plan to release another 0.9.x release before 1.0 (and if we did, when that would happen), so I didn’t push those changes to that branch. You can use the plugins however by simply downloading the files:

Note that the cleaner in the Last.fm plugin does not work correctly due to a bug I found, but it still downloads the files well. Another thing I noticed while testing the plugin is that they (i.e. Last.fm) don’t use unique filenames. So if you plan to download huge galleries, you will probably run into naming issues, so better select the “rename” option in the conflict dialog and select an option to remember that choice (at least for the session). – Sadly, we still have this open bug that the rename mask isn't carried over from dTa!, so there is no other option yet.

But otherwise it should be fine, so have fun with it, and thanks again for the request!

Thank you so much for looking into this!
I have never installed new plugins before, and the few time I have tried so far...the anticontainer list of plugins does not seem to add them after I install them.
i.e. I go "Install plugin" - choose one of those new json files and click OK. Then nothing happens, and it doesn't show up in the list of plugins. Very strange! I'll keep trying though and thanks again!

If they don’t show up, it usually means that the plugin is invalid to some state. I just tested it in 0.9.5 and it worked fine. This is what you need to do:

  1. Go to https://github.com/nmaier/anticontainer/blob/master/plugins/imdb.com.json (or the other file)
  2. Click the raw link on the right
  3. Save the file somewhere (make sure you don’t save it as a text file, but as a .json file)
  4. Open up the dTa! AntiContainer preferences
  5. Click install plugin and choose the file (you shouldn’t need to change the filter, see step 3)
  6. A message should appear that the plugin was successfully installed.

If that doesn’t work, please open up a new issue, and we will try to investigate furter.

poke, this worked awesome. Thank you SO much for your help with these. And the plugins themselves work perfect too, and I'm now able to save images so easily from those sites.
Thanks again guys, I have needed this for ages!
Sarah.

Just two things to note here:

  1. useServerName=true should still keep the full renaming mask activated
  2. otherwise only the destination name gets overridden, but any path components would still work
